AS white and purple confetti fell, Converge ICT Solutions on Tuesday formally unveiled the Converge FiberXers team set to make its debut in the PBA's 47th season.
No less than co-owners Dennis Anthony Uy and Grace Uy led the rites at the Edsa Shangri-La, where management presented the team moniker and core group led by coach jeff Cariaso and player Jeron Teng.
The Uys signed the ball with PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial to symbolize the FiberXers' entry as the newest member of Asia's first play-for-pay league.
"We challenged the telco giants. This is the same mindset we are bringing into the PBA," said Uy. "We'll be a game-changer in the PBA with our passion and drive to give the better experience to all of our loyal PBA fans."
The ultimate goal, according to the Converge top honcho, is to try to be the "best franchise."

"We're excited to commence our journey to build a track record and legacy of excellence, innovation, character, discipline, devotion, and sportsmanship worthy of the respect of PBA fans," said Uy.
"Ang pagmamahal ng Pilipino sa basketball ay kakaiba. Sana mas lalo pang lumakas ang pagmamahal natin sa laro dahil sigurado, ibubuhos naming ang puso sa lahat ng laro."
Team governor Chito Salud promised full management support to the FiberXers towards his end.
The PBA family, represented by Marcial, welcomed its newest member with open arms.
"Malaking tulong ang Converge hindi lang sa PBA pati na rin sa Philippine basketball in general," said Marcial. (OL)
