EASL: TNT in must-win against Abando, Red Boosters

TNT tries to change its fortune in the EASL Home and Away season as it goes up against Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters in Korea on Wednesday.

The first meeting between the Korean Basketball League reigning champion and PBA Governors' Cup title holder is set at 7 p.m. at Anyang gymnasium.

The Tropang Giga are at the bottom of Group A with a 0-3 record and need to start making their move in a bid to remain in the running for a semifinals berth.

This marks the first time TNT will be meeting the Red Boosters, who have in their roster former NCAA Rookie of the Year-MVP Rhenz Abando.

Jung Kwan, which carries a 1-0 slate, is reinforced by Omari Spellman and Daryl Monroe, the same duo responsible for leading the team to the title of the EASL Champions Week early this year.

The Red Boosters also have in their disposal Du'Vaughn Maxwell, who previously played for Phoenix Fuel Masters. The Tropang Giga meanwhile, still has the explosive import duo of Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Quincy Miller, but won't have team leader Jayson Castro, who hurt his hip in TNT's last game against Northport in the PBA Commissioner's Cup.
