THE Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 team left for Singapore on Thursday for its campaign in the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup.
Comprising the team that will try to duplicate if not surpass the fourth place finish achieved by the country last year are Almond Vosotros, Jorey Napoles, Samboy De Leon, and Brandon Bates.
Coach is Lester Del Rosario.
Vosotros and De Leon were with the same unit that finished a fighting fourth during the 2022 edition of the Asia Cup that saw the Filipinos pulled off a 21-20 upset of top seed Mongolia in the semifinals.
Both Vosotros and De Leon are mainstays of PBA 3x3 grand slam champion TNT, while Napoles is with Cavitex and Bates with Platinum Karaoke.

PBA 3x3 tournament director Joey Guanio and Ronnie Magsanoc, national program head on 3x3 by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP), were also with the group.
The Filipinos will see action on Friday against the Draw D top qualifier and Qatar.
Seeded fourth in the tournament that ends on April 2, the the country is bracketed in Pool D along with Qatar and the top qualifier in Draw D, which is consisted of Malaysia, Iran, Hong Kong, and Brunei.
Pool A is led by top seed Mongolia and the host country along with the top qualifier in Draw A.
Pool B meanwhile, is consists of Japan, Australia, and the Draw B top qualifier.

Pool C on the other hand, is bannered by China, India, and the Draw C no.1 team.
The top two teams to emerge in their respective groups will advance to the knockout quarterfinals.
The winner of the three-day meet will earn a spot among one of the 3x3 qualifiers to the Paris Olympics. (RG)
