Ginebra relegates injured Joe Devance to UFA

Barangay Ginebra has put Joe Devance on the unrestricted free agent list as the 6-foot-7 forward is still in a rehab procedure after finally undergoing a procedure on his injured foot.

Minus Devance, the Gin Kings will have to make do with Jervy Cruz and Raymond Aguilar to man the paint with Greg Slaughter and Japeth Aguilar.

Cruz had a significant contribution with 12 points, eight rebounds, one assist and one steal as the Gin Kings opened their campaign in PBA Season 43 with an 89-78 drubbing of the Magnolia Hotshots in their Christmas Day setto at the Philippine Arena.

To cushion the impact of Devance's absence, Ginebra signed up free agents John Wilson and behemoth Jericho De Guzman while placing sophomore forward Art dela Cruz in the injured/reserve list.

The Kings play their second game in the season versus the GlobalPort Batang Pier at 6:45 p.m. Sunday the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
