IT'S been as tight as it could get and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel expects Monday's Game 3 of its PBA Governors' Cup quarterfinal duel with Meralco to be even tighter - especially with the proud Bolts hell-bent on stopping the Gin King's 3-0 sweep bid.
"It would be great if we could sweep them," said resident import Justin Brownlee, who delivered the killer blows in Ginebra's roaring victories at the start the best-of-five contest, 99-92 in Game 1 and 104-103 in nail-biting Game 2.
"They're a tough team, they're a good team. We knew they were going to bounce back in Game 2 and they bounced back hard. And next game, they're going to come even harder so we're definitely expecting that," he added.
As good as Ginebra looks in this latest playoffs showdown with the Bolts, coach Tim Cone wants the crowd darlings to be on an even keel in the 5 p.m. potential closeout match at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
"We just feel really fortunate to be up, 2-0 and you know the old cliche: We haven't done anything yet. It's a cliche because it's true. We haven't done anything yet. We found a way to win the night (Game 2), we gotta continue to find a way to win the series," said Cone.

"Coach always tells us the only thing we expect is a one-point win and that's what we got tonight (Game 2), Hopefully we can continue just working hard for that one-point win and get it to close out the series," Brownlee added.
Brownlee is looking to continue his unbeaten streak against old rival Allen Durham of Meralco in their fourth playoffs faceoff dating back to the 2016 edition.
"We will come back and play on Monday," said a defiant Durham. (OL)
