Governors' Cup features old and new imports

A mix of old and new imports are coming over for the PBA Governors' Cup.

Justin Brownlee, KJ McDaniels, Michael Qualls, Jonathon Simmons, and Erik McCree are among the familiar and new ones seeing action in the season-ending conference.

Brownlee of course, will continue to don the Barangay Ginebra jersey as the Kings try to defend their title, while McDaniel looks at completing an unfinished business with the Bolts after falling short of a playoffs berth in the Commissioner's Cup.

Qualls on the other hand, is going to play for Rain or Shine this time after a stint with the NorthPort Batang Pier in the 2019 edition of the conference.

Another old hand in Shawn Glover is also back for another tour of duty with Blackwater, so is Du'Vaughn Maxwell for Phoenix. Both imports made their PBA debut together last year.

Simmons meanwhile, leads the new faces in this batch of imports, as he's set to see action for NLEX.

The 33-year-old Simmons previously played for the San Antonio Spurs, Orlando Magic, and the Philadelphia 76ers.

McCree, a European League veteran, has been tapped by Magnolia, while Converge is leaning on a familiar face in Ethan Rusbatch, a member of the New Zealand Tall Blacks, who twice beat Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA World Cup Asian qualifier last year.

Powerhouse San Miguel and TNT decided to gamble on young guns Marcus Weathers and Jalen Hudson, respectively. (RG)
