Here comes Demetrius Treadwell to save the Elasto Painters?

WILL Rain or Shine change the course of its journey and tread the right path with Demetrius Treadwell?

Rain or Shine is introducing Treadwell as its new import in the PBA Commissioner's Cup after a woeful 0-4 start with Dajuan Summers.

A product of University of Akron who has spent most of his pro life as a rebounding demon in the Israel league, Treadwell comes on board as the Elasto Painters take on the San Miguel Beermen Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Coach Yeng Guiao is hoping it's not yet late for the Elasto Painters to wage a chase after their successive losses to the Meralco Bolts (107-102), the NorthPort Batang Pier (113-103), the Phoenix Super LPG (99-98) and the Barangay Ginebra Kings (107-102).

However, they're faced with a huge obstacle in San Miguel Beer in their first outing with their new import.

After blowing away what had looked like a won ball game versus the NLEX Road Warriors, coach Jorge Gallents' crew redeemed themselves with back-to-back wins over the Meralco Bolts (103-93) and the Converge FiberXers (105-96).

SMB import Ivan Aska has not been producing hulking numbers but shows stats line that suggests he's ready to play with the system.

In three games, Aska norms 24.0 points, 11.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists.

Complementing Aska at the paint is June Mar Fajardo with his averages of 19.5 points, 15.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists.

Also big contributors are CJ Perez with 20.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists an outing and Terrence Romeo with 18.5 points and 3.5 assists per game.

Rain or Shine's concern is how to counter those numbers.

Guiao is hoping Treadwell can help them in rebounding and on defense, and that something good may start from there.

Treadwell arrived in the country on Sunday, just a day after ROS' fourth loss that sent the team down to the bottom of the 12-team field.(SB)
