Hester excited to rejoin Terrafirma

RETURNING PBA reinforcement Antonio Hester is rejoining Terrafirma as the Dyip's import for the season-opening Governors' Cup on August 18.

The burly but shifty Hester will be on his third tour of duty in Asia's pioneering professional basketball league and it became possible right after Brandon Edwards' injury.

Edwards tore his ACL during the Dyip's tune up game against the Meralco Bolts on Tuesday, leaving the team in a race against time to find a replacement reinforcement.

Luckily, Hester was available and the beefy import is excited as ever to return to play in the PBA.

"I'm super excited to be joining the squad," Hester wrote via Messenger to PBA.ph. "This was my first home in the PBA, but I'm not yet in the Philippines and will be there, soon."

Hester saw action for Terrafirma three years ago during the Governors' Cup where he averaged 28.10 points and 12.60 rebounds.

He returned to the PBA the following season to play for the Magnolia Hotshots as a replacement reinforcement of Eric McCree where he put in averages of 27.88 points and 15.75 rebounds in eight games, but he failed to lead his fifth-seeded squad to advance past the quarterfinal round as it lost to the twice-to-beat Bolts in overtime, 113-107.(RJ)
