James Yap reveals secret in winning 3-point shootout contest

Rain or Shine swingman James Yap needed to rediscover himself and his shooting touch to win the prestigious 3-point shooting contest in the second leg of the 2018 PBA All Star in Batangas City on Friday.

The 36-year-old Yap first won the prestigious event in 2009 when his closest pursuers Stanley Pringle and Terrence Romeo were not yet playing in the PBA.

Ask what he did to bring back his deadly shooting touch Yap said he rediscovered it during practice.

About five days before the competition he asked their ball boy to pass the ball on his right side before launching it just like what he did during games.

He also revealed another secret of his deadly touch from the 3-point arc.

Yap tallied 24 points in final, sinking nine out of 10 money balls to best Pringle, who finished with 21 points and Romeo, who submitted 16 points.(Zaldy Perez)
