Malcolm White didn't last long in his first stint in the PBA, playing only five games as a replacement import for GlobalPort last season.
This time, he's ready to go the distance.
White poured 27 points and 17 rebounds on Friday to help steer the Batang Pier to an 86-85 victory over Meralco for their breakthrough win in the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup.
But rather than revel on his standout performance, the returning reinforcement knows better not to dwell on any one-game sample size.
"It's our first win, but of course, we still to work on some things," he said.

"We need to get better defensively, we need better offensive possessions, and cut out the turnovers. The main thing is eliminate the turnovers and do a better job on our defensive assignments because we're not rotating properly. Those things we can work on and once we correct those in practice, we can be a better, stronger team and hopefully, we can go to the playoffs."
GlobalPort did execute well, shooting at a 46-percent clip and dished out 18 assists.
But its 22 turnovers kept Meralco within striking distance that set up the tight finish. White committed five miscues.
White promised to do a better job Wednesday when GlobalPort returns to action against Blackwater.
One thing going their way will be the return of Mo Tautuaa from his one-game suspension as the Batang Pier aim to win back-to-back games and establish themselves as one of the early leaders for the second conference.
