Mark Barroca excited to play in front of town folks as PBA holds an out of town game in 'Zambo'

Just the thought of playing in front of his town folks excites Mark Barroca.

On Saturday the Magnolia guard gets to fulfill his lifelong dream as the PBA holds an out-of-town game in Zamboanga City for the first time in nine years.

The Petron Blaze Saturday special will be a grand homecoming for Barroca - one of Zamboanga's most celebrated son.

A sellout crowd is expected to fill the Mayor Vitaliano Agan Coliseum up to the rafters.

The last time the PBA held an out of town game in this city was in 2010 featuring San Miguel and Talk N' Text.

Barroca hopes the PBA would consider Zamboanga as a regular stop for its future out of town games.

"Yun rin ang pangarap ko kasi matagal na rin hindi nakakalaro ang PBA doon," said Barroca after helping Magnolia to a 118-82 rout of San Miguel Beer last Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

"Ngayon start na siguro ito na magdala na ng PBA teams dun at hindi na mag-aalangan ang PBA na pumunta dun," added Barroca, who has been getting a lot of request for tickets from friends and relatives since the schedule was released.

Amid his excitement, Barroca said it's business as usual for the Hotshots, who are aiming for their fifth consecutive win after a 0-2 start in the Commissioner's Cup.

"Anu pa rin to business pa din," he said. "Pag punta dun, same lang pag yung mga ibang out-of-town games namin.
