Sunday night in Antipolo, it was the shortest guy on the court who stood tallest.
Meralco Bolts relief guard Anjo Caram, officiallly measured at 5-6 3/4, carved his name in the PBA history books as the shortest player to score 30 points in a game.
Caram put up a shooting showcase, making all but four of his 15 attempts on the floor and highlighting it with a 4-of-6 marksmanship from beyond the arc (66.67 percent) as the Bolts roared to a 103-89 rout of NorthPort and secured twice to beat advantage in the Governors' Cup playoffs.
The former San Beda star had 16 in the fourth period, a 12-minute output that already matched his his previous career high of 16.
"I'm happy for him because he works very hard in practice; he's a guy who has a great attitude, comes to work everyday, doesn't complain about anything. When we play him two minutes, when we play him 30 minutes, it doesn't make any difference, he always gives his best so you have to be happy for a guy like that," said Meralco coach Norman Black.

"I think you could see the response of his teammates when he was making shots, everybody on the team was very happy for him," he added.
The six-year guard delivered his career game just as starter and top gunner Baser Amer was coming back from groin injury. Amer, who missed their previous assignment, saw action for 18 minutes and scored two markers with four assists.
"Focus lang ako this game kasi yung role ko sa team is to relieve Baser and nagkataon na this game, I was taking lang what the defense was giving me," said Caram.
"Yung role ko talaga hindi naman to score kasi andaming scorers namin eh so credit na rin sa teammates ko na pag dino-double sila, napapasa sa kaing and thank you kay Lord, kasi snu-shoot ko naman," he added.
Long minutes or not, Caram said the Bolts can expect him to give his 100 percent.
"Part of the job ko naman, syempre as a role player, everytime na ipasok ka, kailangan ibigay mo yung best mi, magbigay ka ng energy," he said.
