Meralco's Raymond Almazan hopes to regain his rhythm sooner than later

Raymond Almazan said he's done with the 'getting to-know you' as well as understanding how the Meralco Bolts get things done.

All he needs is to get back his rhythm.

Almazan made his much-awaited debut on Friday in Meralco's 101-95 win against Phoenix. He played a little over 13 minutes, finishing with just three points while committing four personal fouls.

The lanky center missed the first three games of the PBA Commissioner's Cup due to an ankle injury he sustained last February while training with the national team.

"Sana sa next games makuha ko na timing ko," Almazan said.

Meralco coach Norman Black is confident that Almazan, acquired from Rain or Shine via a trade before the start of the season, will be a significant piece in the Bolts campaign this conference.

Black said having Almazan in the rotation alongside import Gani Lawal give the Bolts some depth down low.

For his part, Almazan is grateful to Black for his trust even as he continues to regain his timing.

Almazan said he is slowly getting used to Black's style of coaching and hopes he would be able to make a difference for the Bolts. (JT)
