No quit for Manuel, Beermen

AS Vic Manuel returns to San Miguel's active roster, an even bigger task awaits him and the rest of the team.

The reigning PBA Commissioner's Cup champions found themselves in a big hole after a 114-95 loss to guest team Bay Area Dragons put them on the brink of elimination in their semifinals series.

The Beermen are down 0-2 in the best-of-five series, meaning they need to sweep all the next three games in order to make the finals.

The turn of events couldn't have come at the most inappropriate time as Manuel finally rejoined the team after missing the early part of the playoffs due to his strained ITB.

Despite his minutes being managed, the 33-year-old Manuel scored nine points on a perfect 4-of-4 field goal shooting in a losing cause in Game 2.

The San Miguel forward said he felt good on the floor, although he's timing was still a little bit off.

But now, Manuel knows the Beermen need to do better in order to extend their campaign.

It's a daunting task, but anything is possible.

"Medyo mahirap, pero laro pa rin kami. Kailangan magtiwala lang kami sa game plan ng coaching staff namin," said the 'Muscle Man.'

As they say, it ain't over until the fat lady sings.
