PBA 3x3: After ruling Leg 1, Gin Kings aim higher

OPENING Season 3 of the PBA 3x3 with a triumph only strengthened Barangay Ginebra's resolve to continue improving and aiming higher.

"Ang goal namin is mag-improve every training, every leg. Syempre, gusto namin mag-champion uli but we're taking it one game at a time," Ginebra's Kim Aurin said ahead of Monday's start of the First Conference Leg 2 hostilities at the Ayala Malls Circuit in Makati City.

Aurin and teammates Donald Gumaru, Ralph Salcedo and Ralph Cu swept all six assignments last week, including a 19-17 overtime thriller over San Miguel Beer in the finals, to draw first blood in the new season and capture the franchise's second leg win overall.

As they gun for back-to-back, the Gin Kings enter the second stop with a big target on their backs with two tough contenders standing their way right in pool play - TNT and Meralco.

Season 2 grand slam champ Triple Giga and the Bolts are both out for a major bounceback after finishing sixth and seventh, respectively, in Leg 1.
