PBA 3X3: Napoles is new scoring king

CAVITEX stalwart Jorey Napoles reaffirmed his status as one of the premier players in the PBA 3x3 as he figured prominently in key statistical aspects in the Season 3 First Conference wars.

Napoles took over as the top gunner of the six-leg preliminaries with 204 total points in 34 games for an average of six per outing, outgunning San Miguel's Ken Bono (171), Ginebra's Ralph Cu (143) and Meralco duo Alfred Batino (139) and Joseph Sedurifa (137).

The 6-foot-4 pride of Daraga, Albay emerged as the No. 1 free throw-shooter in the season-opening meet, sinking 23, while running second in most two-pointers made with 34 behind TNT pistolero Almond Vosotros' 41.

Vosotros, the league's perennial scoring champ, ranked only sixth in most points with 134 after seeing action for only 19 games. He also occupied sixth in steals with 14.

Complementing his scoring prowess, Napoles topped the shot block charts with 26 ahead of Triple Giga Samboy de Leon (16) and Lervin Flores (16), and ranked third in rebounding with 143 total boards behind SMB's Chester Saldua (164) and Cu (164).
