SAN Miguel Beer greased its redemption drive with a sweep of its pool assignments as it joined four-peat-hunting TNT in the quarterfinals of Leg 4 of the PBA 3x3 Season 3 Second Conference Monday at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay.
The Beermen, who finished a lowly 11th the previous leg, bounced back swinging and shut out Cavitex, 22-17, NorthPort, 21-16, and Purefoods, 21-19, to qualify to Tuesday's KO rounds as Pool B No. 1.
Unstoppable in the mid-season conference, the Triple Giga continued their rampage and disposed of Blackwater, 19-17, and Terrafirma, 21-14, for the top seeding in three-team Pool A.
Ping Exciminiano and Gryann Mendoza took the cudgels against the Smooth Razor and the Dyip, respectively, enabling TNT to cruise to the quarterfinals while stretching the franchise's overall won-game streak to 18 in this conference.
Pioneer Elastoseal (2-0) and MCFASolver (2-1), meanwhile, claimed the first two quarters tickets in Pool C.

The Katibays outdueled the Tech Centrale, 16-15, then eked out a 21-19 thriller over Meralco to advance with a game to spare in the elims. MCFASolver, for its part, hacked out victories against the Bolts (1-2), 18-10, and Ginebra (0-2), 19-14, to fuel its advance.
By virtue of its 21-14 verdict over Terrafirma (0-2), Blackwater (1-1) went with the Last-8 march as Pool A No. 2.
Pool action wraps up Tuesday morning with Purefoods (0-2) and NorthPort (0-2) battling for Pool B's remaining quarters pass and the Gin Kings fighting for dear life against the quarters-guaranteed Katibays.
After the elims, the eight qualifiers immediately engage in do-or-die duels all the way to the final battle and P100,000 purse. (OL)
