PBA approves 3-player trade between Meralco and Blackwater

The PBA Commissioner's Office approves the trade between Meralco and Blackwater involving Baser Amer, Bryan Faundo and Mac Belo on Thursday.

Belo, Blackwater's top pick in the 2016 special draft among Gilas cadets, will be joining the Bolts after four seasons with Blackwater which traded the 27-year-old veteran forward for Amer and Faundo.

He led the FEU Tamaraws to the championship and was named the finals MVP of the UAAP 2015 season.

He just could not muster the same success with Blackwater, for his four seasons with the Bossing's were marred by injuries.

Amer, on the other hand, spent his first five seasons with Meralco and was the team's starting point guard since the retirement of Jimmy Alapag.

The 28-year-old Amer, a three-time All-Star, and Belo played together for Gilas which won the gold medal for the Philippines in the 2015 Southeast Asian Games in Singapore.

Apart from Amer, Meralco also dealt substitute center/forward Faundo to Blackwater. It will be a reunion of sorts for Faundo with the Bossings, the team he played for during the 2014-2015 season.
