PBA D-League: Letran eyes back-to-back wins vs AMA Online

WANGS Basketball @27 Striker-Letran aims for win No. 2 when it tangles against the winless AMA Online in the 2023 PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup Tuesday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.

Action kicks off at 2 p.m. with the Knights (1-2) looking to secure its place in the playoffs and eliminate AMA (0-4) from the race with a week left playoff in the single-round robin elimination play.

The Knights snapped a two-game skid and hand new coach Rensy Bajar his first win with a 100-92 win over the PSP Gymers last week.

Letran didn't look like NCAA's 3-peat champion after opening its campaign in the 7-team tournament with successive defeat against Marinerong Pilipino-San Beda and Centro Escolar U.

The Knights though hope stay on the winning track after last week'd breakthrough win.

"Napakalayo pa namin as a team. This is a brand new team. Marami kaming rookies so ito 'yung process para mabuo kami, mabuo 'yung chemistry namin. Kailangan pagsikapan at paghirapan namin," said Bajar, who hopes to continue Letran's winning culture.

No doubt pressure is on AMA coach Mark Herrera and his Titans.

They come into the game with a 0-4 mark and needing a miracle to pull off an all-important win against the Knicks to stay in contention.

AMA's losses came against Perpetual (101-57), CEU (107-68), PSP (108-70) and Marinerong Pilipino-San Beda (119-70). (JBU)
