PHILIPPINE Sports Performance (PSP) decked AMA Online, 108-70, to snap a two-game skid in the 2023 PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup Thursday at the Ynares Sport Arena in Pasig City.
The Gymers cut the Titans down to size in the fourth quarter, limiting them to only 10 points to run away with a 38-point win and get back on the track and a 2-2 record.
All but one of 15 players scored for PSP led by Jayvee Dela Cruz with 24 points on six treys. He added two rebounds, three assists and a steal in 22 minutes of play.
Jolo Sumagaysay and Dariel James Bayla had 14 and 10 points, respectively for PSP, which stunned Marinerong Pilipino-San Beda in its debut but bowed to Perpetual and reigning champion EcoOil-La Salle in the next two games.
"Dalawang sunod na beses na kaming talo kaya pinaghandaan talaga namin itong game para makabawi. Ang dami namang turnovers at offensive rebounds allowed noong first half kaya nag-adjust kami lalo na sa depensa sa second half," said assistant coach Jonathan Macaranas.
PSP raced to 31-17 lead but AMA slowly made its way and cut the margin to 49-41 behind a 9-2 run to closeout the second quarter.
The Titans kept the game close until the end of the third quarter before the Gymers found their rhythm and pulled away in the fourth with a 34-10 run.
Earl Ceniza scored 15 points for AMA which stayed winless after three games. (JBU)
