PBA launches mobile app to bring fans closer to the game

In an effort to bridge the gap between the fans and their favorite players, the league launched the PBA App on Monday.

"It's a direct way to be in touch with the players," said Fred Fateh of Appefize Pte Ltd, creators of the application.

The league wanted to have an go-to application for PBA fans, where they can see the profiles, news, live scores, schedule and stats of their favorite teams and players.

"We tried to create a destination app where people will wake up in the morning and launch the app to get the news, the results, the schedule and events. Fans don't have to leave the PBA app in order to follow the league's Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter," said Fateh.

"This is just the first step. It will have more exciting features in the future."

The PBA App is just one of the continuing innovations for this season, with chairman Mikee Romero putting premium on extending the league's social media presence.

"Kailangan yung tentacles natin as PBA, habaan natin. Hatakin natin yung mga fans and I think the platform for that is the PBA App," he said.

Other advancements are eyed for future updates.

"We have to make it bigger, so this is just a good start. It has to be very interactive before or after the game," he said.
