John Amores may join NorthPort's practices and other activities.
PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial made the announcement in a press conference on Friday but stressed the NorthPort guard will remain suspended for the duration of the Commissioner's Cup.
"In coordination with the management of NorthPort, the Commissioner has decided that (John) Amores will be suspended for all his games in the PBA's 49th Season without pay for conduct detrimental to the league," the PBA said in a statement read by lawyer Ogie Narvasa, the league's legal counsel.
Marcial said Amores will be allowed to play again in the PBA "but, without delay must submit to counseling to address his anger and violent tendencies."
Although under suspension, Amores is entitled to receive salary from NorthPort and will be allowed to practice and join his team's activities.

"Isolating him will not be helpful and healthy for his rehabilitation," the commissioner stressed.
Marcial said that his clearance to play must be obtained from his counsellors. Amores' counseling program must also be with the approval of the league and it must continue until he is cleared and the program terminated by the counsellors.
Amores is facing frustrated homicide charges after he and his brother got involved in a shooting incident after a pickup game in Lumban, Laguna last month.
Marcial maintained that the PBA and the management of NorthPort are strongly against any kind of violence on and off the court and also advocate responsible and safe handling of guns.
