The door is now open for Gilas Pilipinas coach Chot Reyes to pick the finest players he needs to form a formidable national team.
New PBA commissioner Willie Marcial has green-lighted the abolishment of a previous agreement on limits to the number of players Reyes can tap for his Gilas Pilipinas training pool.
PBA team can lend to national team that will play in the 2019 Fiba World championship.
"Yun ang sinabi ko sa inyo na ipi-pitch namin sa Board. Masaya naman tayo na hindi naman yun hinindian ng Board," said Marcial shortly after his appointment as the league's 10th commissioner.
Marcial said the Board didn't need much convincing to approve the proposal.

"Talagang sila na ang nagsabi na kung sinong player ang gusto ni coach Chot, pag-usapan natin, basta't wala lang problema sa schedule ng games," he said.
Under the previous agreement between the PBA and the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) Reyes can only tap one cadet player and one veteran per team to join the Gilas Pilipinas pool.
That's no longer the case now as Reyes will be having the freedom to select the top players for international tournaments moving forward. (DL)
