THE PBA is bringing back its 3x3 tournament for women in the coming Season 48.
The blueprint for the half-court game is now being laid out, with the new season about to kick off a week from now.
Commissioner Willie Marcial said reviving the women's 3x3 has been part of his program since becoming the chief of Asia's pioneering pro league in 2018.
"Matagal na nating pinangako simula pa nung nag-commissioner ako na magpapalaro ako ng 3x3 sa mga babae naman," he said.
The league actually held a full-season women's 3x3 tournament in 2016 under the stewardship of then commissioner Chito Narvasa.

All 12 PBA teams were represented in the three conferences at stake in the inaugural season.
Blackwater emerged champion in the Philippine Cup, NLEX topped the Commissioner's Cup, and Globalport ruled the Governors' Cup.
The program though, wasn't sustained, which Marcial planned to restart this season, especially in the wake of the success of the regular PBA 3x3 which is now on Season 3.
Men's 3x3 tournament director Joey Guanio said six to eight teams are being eyed to compose the revival of the women's three-a-side tournament.
Two games each will be played every Wednesday and Friday in between the scheduled Commissioner's Cup doubleheader.
