IS Phoenix dead serious on acquiring veteran forward Joe Devance?
Head coach Louie Alas revealed on Sunday his intention to get his former player, whom he believes can address the team's deficiency up front.
"Why not? Joe Devance is Joe Devance," Alas said when asked if he's serious on getting the services of the injured King, who won eight championship with Alaska, Star and Ginebra.
Alas is no stranger to Devance, who played with him in the Toyot Otis squad in the PBL.
Phoenix has one of the smallest frontlines in the PBA as the squad has been relying on veteran Doug Kramer, young journeyman Justin Chua and rookie Jason Perkins among others in manning the paint.

But Phoenix team manager Paolo Bugia believes getting Devance is a far-fetched even though he's in the unrestricted free agent list.
"Mukhang may usapan na sila ng Ginebra na ibabalik rin siya agad," said Bugia.
