Pogoy, Williams, Galinato still missing in action for TNT

TNT continues to miss the services of three key players in its ongoing PBA Governors Cup campaign.

For the second straight game, the Tropang Giga were without Roger Pogoy, former MVP Kelly Williams, and sophomore big man Henry Galinato.

Pogoy is facing issue regarding his back, Williams is bothered by a calf injury, while Galinato is down with a mild MCL sprain.

Galinato could be out for a month, while Pogoy and Williams are day-to-day basis, according to coach Chot Reyes.

"Roger still has some back issues, although the MRI showed no major structural damage," said Reyes.

Pogoy joined the Tropang Giga in their practice prior to the game against Meralco and did some light shooting workout.

"Pero may nararamdaman pa rin siya, so he's really a day-to-day," added Reyes.

It's the same case on the 42-year-old Williams.

"Depending on how quickly the pain in his calf will subside to make it tolerable for him to jump," said the TNT coach of Williams' situation.

Reyes said it's just a slight strain or pulled calf injury on the part of the seasoned power forward, an injury that really needs rest for someone to recover.

Despite the manpower shortage though, the defending champions still managed to hold the fort and notched a second straight win by beating Meralco, 93-73, Thursday night to seize the solo lead in Group A. (RG)
