The war is over but the season is still on, with a special PBA awards rites to be held for the coronation of the bubble play best player - a royal rumble among six candidates.
Stanley Pringle narrowly missed the Top Five in the statistical points race through the semifinals but has a strong case for himself being the lead gun of bubble play champ Barangay Ginebra.
He's in the mix of official contenders for the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup best player honors along with TNT Tropang Giga's Bobby Ray Parks, Phoenix Pulse's Calvin Abueva and Matthew Wright, TerraFirma's CJ Perez and NorthPort's Christian Standhardinger.
The PBA, as approved by the league board, is holding a special awards ceremony in January to recognize and salute the top individual performers in the special all-Filipino tourney ending with the Gin Kings topping the Tropang Giga for the crown Wednesday night.
To be bestowed honors are the Best Player, the Outstanding Rookie, Most Improved, Sportsmanship and the Special Team which will be the counterpart of the Mythical Five.

"It's not a full season so it will be the BPC award," said PBA commissioner Willie Marcial of the recognition to be contested by Pringle, Parks, Abueva, Wright, Perez and Standhardinger.
In contention for the Outstanding Rookie are Meralco's Aaron Black, TerraFirma's Roosevelt Adams and Ginebra's Arvin Tolentino.
The league conducts balloting once through with the complete list of candidates for all the awards.
In the past two years, the PBA held the season awards back-to-back with the inaugurals of the next season.
The league is veering away from this setup since Season 46 is not commencing until April.

"Masyado pang matagal ang opening, and we have to honor our heroes in the bubble tourney. The board wants a special ceremony," said the league chieftain. (SB)
