SURPRISES await PBA fans on Game 1 of the Governors' Cup finals between Barangay Ginebra and TNT as the league holds a simple celebration marking its 48th year on Easter Sunday.
Several on-court activities will be held, while freebies are going to be available for kids who are going to watch the series opener at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Food stalls and other goodies can also be found around the venue, according to PBA marketing director Jo Francisco.
"We'll definitely have lots of raffles, a lot of on-court activities, and freebies para sa mga batang darating," she said.
Commissioner Willie Marcial will lead the celebration as Asia's first ever play-for-pay league looks back to its birth on April 9, 1975 when Carrier guard Gregorio 'Joy' Dionisio sank the first ever basket in PBA history during the inaugural game between Concepcion and Mariwasa-Noritake.

Plans are also afoot about putting up rare memorabilia at the lobby of the Big Dome, where the league held its first doubleheader more than four decades ago.
The celebration and the start of the best-of-seven title series also marks the beginning of the multi-year partnership between the league and Arena Plus.
"They (Arena Plus) are the presentor of our finals series and until next season. Even the PBA On Tour sila rin ang presentor," said Francisco.(RG)
