Revilla tests mettle playing 3x3

IT'S a whole different challenge LA Revilla faces in leading the campaign of NorthPort in the inaugural PBA 3x3 meet.

The veteran guard joins Jervy Cruz, Jeepy Faundo, and Mark Olayon in the compact four-man Batang Pier roster to be handled by coach Jaren Jarencio.

Revilla, 31, admitted it's the first time he'll be playing the half-court game at this level of competition.

"Sa totoo lang, I have no idea. I have seen games, but I haven't played this type of basketball. I mean this level, hindi ko pa nalalaro ito," said the NorthPort playmaker in the nightly sports program The Game.

It's the first time the former De La Salle stalwart will be playing competitive basketball this season, having been moved by NorthPort management from its 5-on-5 team to the Batang Pier's pioneering unit for the three-a-side tournament.

Like everyone else, whether it be 5-on-5 or 3x3, Revilla said he's just happy being back on the court again.

"I think overall, I'm just excited. I'm happy to be able to play basketball again," he stressed.

The first ever 3x3 of Asia's first ever play-for-pay league kicks off on Nov. 20 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig. (RG)
