Rookie prospects undergo UPC orientation

ORIENTATION with regards to the Uniform Players Contract (UPC) was made part of the PBA Draft Combine for the very first time.

The 58 rookie applicants attended the briefing at the Gatorade Hoops Center in Mandaluyong during the opener of the two-day event on Wednesday.

League legal counsel Atty. Melvin Mendoza spoke about the subject matter shortly after the measurements and biometric testing were done on all players.

Previously, briefing about the UPC was usually discussed during the PBA rookie orientation.

Mendoza explained and detailed how the UPC works amongst the players, their respective mother teams, and the league.

Deputy commissioner Eric Castro was on hand to welcome the rookie prospects.

The 47th Season Draft will be held on Sunday at the Robinsons Place Manila. (RG)
