Ryan Arana celebrates birthday for a good cause

IT was a different birthday celebration for veteran Rain or Shine guard Ryan Arana.

Arana turned a new leaf on Monday (March 23) and instead of hosting a party, the 37-year-old player opted to share his blessings by distributing foods to Filipino frontliners in this time when the entire Luzon is under an enhanced community quarantine due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The former De La Salle stalwart posted on social media how he spent his special day giving out sandwiches, pansit, and drinks to policemen, barangay officials, security guards, traffic enforcers, and even homeless people as his way of showing his appreciation on them in this time of worldwide crisis.

Arana himself helped out in preparing the foods he gave to the people he called 'our heroes in the streets.'

"It was a simple act yet seeing their big smiles made it fulfilling," Arana posted on both his Instagram and Facebook accounts.
