FURTHER breakthrough for Converge? Or San Miguel Beer flexing its muscles and showing who's the boss?
What was expected to be a one-sided series has turned to be a match to watch, culminating in a Game 5 decider at the Ynares Sports Arena in Antipolo Sunday.
With a great steal in Game 3 (114-112) then the stirring follow-up in Game 4 (114-100), the FiberXers have climbed out of a deep hole and are now in a position to crack the Final Four for the first time since joining the PBA in 2022.
But even with their back-to-back slipups, the mighty Beermen have remained the outstanding favorite, fancied to survive whatever hit them in their last two games after a 2-0 start in this PBA Governors Cup race-to-three quarters.
If ever, June Mar Fajardo and his teammates would just add another page in their book of tales of triumphs, feats and exploits as the league's most successful franchise.

But they have no more room for another mistake. Another tumble would give way to a reverse sweep for the Converge and entry to the best-of-seven semifinals versus Barangay Ginebra.
It's now kill-or-be-killed situation for both sides. They figure in the series decider at 7:30 p.m.
"I believe kahit nakadikta kami ng some momentum with the two wins, they also have two wins. We have to win one game; they have to win one game. So bale-wala na 'yun," said Converge coach Franco Atienza.
It's a 50-50 dispute, with the FiberXers vowing to make the most of it.
"Ang maganda dito, may isang game pa," a defiant SMB star CJ Perez said.

"Naka-depende pa rin sa amin (team's fate). Kilala naman natin ang San Miguel kung paano maglaro; kailangan lang namin ibalik 'yun kasi medyo nawawala, magulo lately lalo na sa depensa namin."(SB)
