Standhardinger sees Pringle getting his second wind

CHRISTIAN Standhardinger and Stanley Pringle go together way back.

They were teammates at NorthPort, the Philippine men's basketball team in the 2018 Asian Games, Ginebra and will now enter a new phase in their respective careers teaming up at Terrafirma.

Both of them are now in their late 30s, but Standhardinger sees Pringle bound to get his second wind based on what he had seen in their practices.

"You should not forget about Stanley. He's an all-star caliber. It didn't look like the Stanley that we're used to four years ago, but I don't want to put expectations too high up, but he's looking great with this new system and I'm excited to see what will happen when he's getting unleashed," said Standhardinger.

Standhardinger won multiple championships while playing with Pringle at Ginebra and their partnership at Terrafirma, which made some headway when it reached the playoffs of last season's Philippine Cup, is something fans look forward to.

Terrafirma defeated Ginebra in the elimination round, then beat top seed San Miguel Beer in the playoffs once to force a rubber match before yielding to the more experienced Beermen in the do-or-die encounter.

Much are expected on Standhardinger and Pringle, two players who know how to win, in pushing the Dyip to go the extra mile and the Fil-German center is upbeat the veteran guard could help him carry the team.

"We played at NorthPort together and I also played against him, so I know what Stanley can bring to the table," added Standhardinger. "I'm very, very excited just to see Stanley playing his game." (RJ)
