Terrence Romeo wants to win more championships, retirement plan just a joke

Terrence Romeo looks forward to winning more championships with San Miguel.

Romeo finally experience how its like to win a championship after San Miguel defeated Magnolia 72-71 in the deciding Seventh Game of the PBA Philippine Cup titular series Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

He finished with only four points, relatively low for an offense-oriented player who holds the distinction as the league's three-time scoring champion.

But he was just too willing to sacrifice his scoring and do whatever it takes - like rebounding and defense -- to help the Beermen's cause. Romeo pulled down seven rebounds, dished three assists and helped slowdown Magnolia's backcourt tandem of Jio Jalalon and Mark Barroca.

He did not regret it.

Romeo has won many awards since he started playing basketball but has never won a championship until Wednesday night. And he relished the moment.

The San Miguel guard also clarified that he is not retiring and did not entertain retirement.

"Biro lang yun," Romeo said. (JT)
