Four-time league MVP June Mar Fajardo captured his first PBA Rush-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week award after helping defending champion San Miguel Beer register its first back-to-back wins for the Commissioner's Cup.
The PBA's most dominant force averaged 16.5 points, 16 rebounds, 3.0 assists 1.5 blocks to help SMB beat Phoenix, 106-94, before outlasting Barangay Ginebra, 104-97 in overtime last Sunday.
Playing under the weather last Wednesday, the 6-10 Fajardo was still able to do a little of everything in San Miguel's first victory for the conference after scoring nine points, adding 13 rebounds, issuing 4 assists and 2 blocks against Phoenix.
But four days later, the pride of Pinamungahan, Cebu regained his old, deadly self after banging in 24 points, including the mid-range jumper over Ginebra slotman Greg Slaughter that sent the game into overtime.
The 28-year-old Fajardo also added 19 rebounds to completely outplay Slaughter, who failed to get his rhythm as Ginebra absorbed its third straight loss this conference.

At 2-3, the Beermen hope to get the much-needed momentum going as they face the unpredictable Columbian Dyip this Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
