Tiongson sees CStan, Pringle providing immediate impact for Dyip

JUAMI Tiongson welcomes the arrival of Christian Standhardinger and Stanley Pringle at Terrafirma as the two players reinforced two spots which he believes are crucial in the Dyip's campaign in the PBA Season 49.

Of course, the All-Star guard was disheartened to see former teammates Isaac Go and Stephen Holt go away as part of the trade to acquire Standhardinger and Pringle with Barangay Ginebra.

Holt and Go after all, were major pieces of the Dyip's core that reached the playoffs for the first time in eight years last season during the Philippine Cup where they eventually lost to top seed San Miguel in their knockout quarterfinals duel.

But Tiongson said getting Standhardinger and Pringle in return is nonetheless, primary catches for Terrafirma as well.

The 33-year-old product of Ateneo sees the 6-foot-8 Standhardinger making a big difference as far as post plays are concerned for the Dyip.

"Feel ko nga ang defense talagang magpo-focus na sa kanya, e. Ang laking bagay niya," said Tiongson, noting how Standhardinger imposed his presence inside during some of Terrafirma's off-season tune-up games.

"Ang laki na ng space na nakukuha niya."

And Pringle?

Tiongson sees him complementing him well at the backcourt in the same manner Holt did during his season-long stay with the franchise.

"Si Stan gusto talagang manalo niyan. Ramdam ko sa practices and tune-up games namin na gusto niyang maglaro," he said.

"Ang maganda sa kanya ang ganda ng attitude niya. Walang complaints," added Tiongson. "Sinasabihan niya nga ako na 'Juami, you have to be more aggressive, it makes my life easier.' And for him to say that, an MVP caliber player, ang laking bagay nun, ang laking confidence ang ibinibigay nila sa akin."(RG)
