At 37 years old, Peter June Simon has shown that he is still a valuable contributor in the Star Hotshots camp. The "Scoring Apostle" was a perfect 5/5 from three point region this week where the Hotshots scored 2 crucial victories and sealed the Number 4 slot in the quarterfinals. Simon's veteran leadership comes in the perfect time as the Star franchise aims to make noise in the playoffs and relive their glory days.

Jayson Castro - TNT Katropa

28 pts 4 rebs 7 assts 1 stl 6/7 3PT vs Ginebra (September 23)

The TNT Katropa are riding high with a four game winning streak heading into the quarterfinals and at the same time they have locked the 2nd spot in the standings. Leading the way for TNT is 2-time former Best Point Guard in Asia awardee Jayson Castro. Last Saturday, his outside sniping was on point as Castro converted 6 out of 7 from long range in a 28 point performance to go with 7 assists against Ginebra.

20 pts 6 rebs 1 asst 1 blk vs Blackwater (September 23)

"Rock and Roll" Raymond Almazan has blossomed into one of the league's elite big men this conference. Against Blackwater, the former Letran Knight scored 20 points in an effective 6 of 7 shooting from the field in over 18 minutes of play to lead the Elastopainters to their second straight win and momentum heading to the quarterfinals against powerhouse TNT Katropa.

"The Kraken" was at his usual dominant self this week averaging 25 points in two games for the Beermen. His 6 foot 10 inch frame has caused matchup nightmares to undersized teams in the league. Fajardo will have to do more to keep the Beermen's grand slam hopes alive versus defending Governor's Cup champions Barangay Ginebra in the quarterfinals as well as in his match-up against fellow Cebuano giant Greg Slaughter.
