Training of all teams seen rolling by May 20

BY Thursday, PBA teams may all be done with their first RT-PCR tests and, barring hitches, would be allowed by May 20 to start preparations for the eyed Season 46 mid-June kickoff.

The Meralco Bolts were the first to undertake their swab test and could hit the road for their planned 10-day bubble training camp in Laoag, Ilocos Norte as early as May 15.

The NLEX Road Warriors, the Blackwater Bossing and the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters were scheduled for their initial tests Tuesday. The rest of the teams are to follow suit Wednesday or Thursday.

All the teams will be tested a second time two days before the start of their training.

"Naunang nagpa-test ang Meralco. Pwede na silang magsimula ng ensayo by May 15," said PBA commissioner Willie Marcial.

The TNT KaTropa are said to be also considering a bubble training in Laoag upon the invitation of Ilocos Norte Gov. Matthew Manotoc.

Meanwhile, Blackwater, Phoenix and Alaska are among the teams inquiring for details of possible training in Batangas City.

At the same time, all the teams await the government announcement on the quarantine status after May 14.

As per the earlier resolution approved by the Inter-Agency Task Force, PBA ball clubs are allowed team activities, including 5-on-5 scrimmages, in areas under general community quarantine or modified GCQ. They're all hoping NCR Plus eases into GCQ in the next IATF ruling.(SB)
