Troy Rosario believes PBA restart will help inspire people

THE risk may be there, but seeing the PBA back on its feet will somehow help inspire people in this time of the pandemic.

As the country's top sports entertainment, there's no better way to send a positive message across than seeing the games being played again, according to TNT Katropa big man Troy Rosario.

"Mas maganda yung nakikita tayo (ulit) sa tv, kahit paano makapagbigay tayo ng kaunting lakas ng loob na nakakapaglaro na ang PBA," Rosario said.

"Lalakas yung loob ng mga tao na puwede na (dahil) nakakalabas na yung mga players, nakakalabas na yung ibang tao."

A restart to the league's 45th season is still a long way, although teams had already been permitted to finally resume their individual workouts under strict health protocols.

While scrimmages and tune-up games remain prohibited, the resumption of individual workouts somehow give a ray of hope that the league will be able to resume a season that was 'indefinitely postponed' following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic early this year.

The 28-year-old Rosario welcomed such scenario than not having a season at all.

"Mas OK na yun kaysa wala talagang PBA buong taon," said the power forward out of National University in the latest episode of the PBA Kamustahan.

Playing before an empty venue and without basketball fans also poised no problem for Rosario, who insisted that the health and safety of the people remain a priority.

"Kahit hindi payagan ang mga fans sa venue, kailangan pa rin nating gawin yung ginagawa natin which is maglaro, kasi para sa kanila (fans) pa rin naman yun at hindi lang para sa atin," said the TNT stalwart.
