RARE is the time coaches get injured, but Magnolia has one in Chito Victolero.
The Hotshots mentor successfully underwent surgery over the weekend for the torn Achilles he suffered during a pick-up game.
Renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Raul Canlas performed the operation which lasted almost four hours.
The surgery however, wouldn't keep the coach from doing his duties with Magnolia, which now remained as the only undefeated team in the PBA Commissioner's Cup at 3-0 following the loss of guest team Bay Area Dragons to Barangay Ginebra on Sunday.
"Hindi naman ako maglalaro, so hopefully, I wouldn't be able to miss a game," Victolero said.

The coach is actually set to resume attending the practices of the Hotshots on Tuesday or just four days after going under the knife.
Victolero said he would be showing up during games in crutches.
The champion coach took the time to undergo surgery as Magnolia had a one-week break after winning its last game against TNT Tropang Giga, 94-92.
The Hotshots will play their next game on Wednesday against the NLEX Road Warriors.
Victolero has been wearing a protective booth on his left foot since going down with an Achilles injury during a Sunday pick-up game with his friends prior to the start of the conference. (RG)
