BLACKWATER smothered PBA Greats, 118-35, on Wednesday even as Talk 'N Text and Meralco also racked up wins in the 2023 Batang PBA at the Filoil EcoOil Center in San Juan.
Fourteen players hit the board for the Batang Bossing spearheaded by Lee Christoff Carteciano with 18 points as Blackwater shared the early lead with San Miguel on top of the Under-14 Division in Group B with similar 1-0 cards.
Luc Damon Aquino and Gabriel Kyle Bullagay provided scoring for Blackwater with 16 and 15 points, respectively.
The margin of victory surpassed the 106-34 win by Ginebra against Rain or Shine in U12 play.
In Group C of the 14-under, Jame Antonio Teodoro (13), Rangel Macalindong (11) and Francis Adriano II (11) led Talk 'N Text to victory against Sista, 79-62. The Batang Tropang Giga tied Converge in the group with 1-0 apiece.

Meralco, meanwhile, opened its Group D play in U14 with a 68-33 win over PBA All Star Light behind Shawn Harvey Ayuda (14) and Eric Gadiel Castro (10). The Bolts joined Cavitex infront of Pool D with identical 1-0 slates.
The Batang Bolts were also trumphant in the lone U12 game as Rye Teodor Villaruz scored 18 points to lead the team to a 79-57 win over the Blackwater Red President.
John Dave Mindanao added 10 while brothers Isaac Miguel and Lorenzo Miguel Purugganan had 10 and eight markers, respectively, for Meralco. (JBU)
