Black hopes he's healthy enough to rejoin the Bolts next month

Aaron Black successfully underwent surgery on his meniscus last week and is eyeing a return to the Meralco Bolts roster in October.

"The surgery went well and now I've started running. It felt much better now since the surgery," relates Black.

Black missed the Bolts championship run that saw the squad winning the PBA Philippine Cup for its first title since joining the league in 2010. He hurt his knee in the midst of the Bolts' playoff campaign, but was able to dodge operation on his ACL.

He underwent surgery, though, on his meniscus. He feels better now and hopes he's healthy enough to rejoin the Bolts in the quarterfinals of the PBA Governors' Cup next month.

While recovering from the injury, Black played the role of a cheerleader to show support to his teammates.

"We're more like a family here and that's one of the things I love about this team," said Black. "The bond grew more and that sense of togetherness has spilled over to the basketball court." (RJ)
