FOR someone who's been there, done that, Robert Bolick reached out to a former rival to comfort and wish him good health.
The NorthPort guard said he sent Alaska big man Kevin Racal a private message upon learning he suffered a complete ACL during the team's opening day game of the PBA Philippine Cup against TnT Tropang Giga.
Bolick certainly knows the feeling as he himself has just recovered from the same injury which he suffered late last year.
The two of course, has a long history of rivalry during their college years, with Bolick playing for San Beda and Racal suiting up for the Knights.
But in times of adversity, color knows no boundary.

"Hindi kami magka-kakilala masyado, pero minessage ko siya (Racal) sa Instagram, (sabi ko), kung nagda-dalawang isip ka andito lang ako," recalled Bolick of his message to Racal. "Kahit Letran siya, San Beda ako."
Bolick, the no. 3 overall pick in the 2018 draft, has now fully recovered from the injury and even already joined the Batang Pier in their individual workouts. He could have been part of the team's 15-man roster in the Clark bubble, but upon doctor's advice, opted to stay behind and concentrate in further strengthening his knee.
The 25-year-old guard said that aside from the all-out support of management, a big help on his way to recovery was the encouraging words extended to him by fellow players.
Now, Bolick said he's just giving back to those who are in need of help.
"Mini-message nila (players) ako, so kailangan ibalik ko rin sa kanila. Yung sinasabi nila nung na-injure ako, sinasabi ko sa kanila din," said the Gilas Pilipinas stalwart.

"At the end of the day, outside basketball, we're still humans. We're still part of the PBA family," added Bolick during his guest appearance in the show Sports Page.
Racal has successfully undergone surgery under Dr. George Canlas on Wednesday and is expected to be out for about 10 months.(RG)
