NORTHPORT hits the halfway mark of its PBA Commissioner's Cup elims campaign Tuesday and hopes to pass through with a perfect slate.
If ever, the Batang Pier would establish their longest winning run in franchise history.
The Batang Pier eye win No. 6 against the Phoenix Super LPG side which has been on a slump dating back to the previous tourney, in a lonely ride with just one win to show in the season.
It's virtually the top meeting the bottom as the Batang Pier and the Fuel Masters slug it out at 7:30 p.m. at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
This early, coach Bonnie Tan and his crew are close to the playoffs, and they're pursuing the goal with a big, big help from highly dependable import Kadeem Jack.

Then there's the heavy lifting they're getting from their ace locals, led by Arvin Tolentino and Joshua Munzon.
On a roll, Munzon cranked it up even more with a career-high 30-point sizzler in their 108-101 drubbing of Converge and the debuting Balti Baltazar Thursday.
"I just had the confidence in myself in taking shots and told my teammates let me take them. I'm happy they went in and we got the win," said Munzon on his heroics in their fifth win after earlier triumphs over NLEX, Terrafirma, Magnolia and TNT.
Jack was a tremendous presence for the Batang Pier in those victories.
Versus Converge, Jack drilled in 32 with 15 boards to headline the scoring parade for NorthPort, which also drew solid outings from Arvin Tolentino (21-13) and rookie Evan Nelle (13-9-5) as they tied their record run of five straight victories.
