First batch of PBA delegates leave for All-Star weekend in Passi City

ALL roads lead to Passi City in Iloilo this week as the PBA holds its first All-Star weekend in three years.

The first batch of the All-Star delegation depart down South on Wednesday headed by Deputy Commissioner and project director Eric Castro.

The main bulk of the contingent leaves the following day with members of Team Scottie and Team Japeth bracing for what would be a busy schedule upon arrival in Iloilo.

A motorcade and courtesy call at the office of Mayor Atty. Stephen Palmares kick off the All-Stars' activity guide for the week.

The teams of Scottie Thompson and Japeth Aguilar will later mingle with the fans in the afternoon as they hold a meet and greet at the City of Passi Arena and the CityMall, respectively.

The Skills Challenge is set Friday pitting Team Greats and Team Stalwarts composed of rookie, sophomore, and junior players, as well as the side events such as the Obstacle Challenge, Three-point shootout, and Slam Dunk contest.

School visits, basketball, coaches, and referees clinics will be held on Saturday, before the weekend showcase culminates with the staging of the All-Star game on Sunday pitting Team Japeth against Team Scottie.

The All-Star weekend is being revived this season after a three year absence due to the health pandemic.

Calasiao, Pangasinan hosted the last All-Star classic in 2019. (RG)
