BLACKWATER may have missed the last bus to the PBA Governors' Cup playoffs, but for import George King the journey had been one hell of a ride.
The prolific import had nothing but praises for the entire team especially Jeff Cariaso, who he refers to as the best coach he ever worked with.
"Honestly, you (Cariaso) are the best coach that I played for. In these span of five, six games, the offense and defense is very simple but effective. I just want to say thank you. It's been a real joy. My games follow because of that," said the 30-year-old King.
The former NBA player did turn around a Blackwater campaign that got off to a rough start.
The Bossing already toted a 0-3 record when King arrived to replace Ricky Ledo, but made an immediate impact by leading the team to three straight victories to get back at the .500 mark.

But a costly loss against Phoenix proved to be a game changer for Blackwater, and coupled by the overtime win of NLEX over Barangay Ginebra in the penultimate day of the group stage, had the Bossing kissing goodbye their quarterfinals' bid.
Still, the Blackwater ouster was not enough to spoil Kings' first ever stint with the franchise.
"I played a lot of basketball, been with a lot of coaches, a lot of different markets, a lot of different continents, countries. I just want to complement coach," said King, a second round pick of the Phoenix Suns in the 2018 draft.
The rest can be said about the entire Bossing, which King said are 'my type of guys.'
"Honestly, because at this point of my career, I just appreciate it so much. I'm really enjoying my time here in the Philippines, playing for Blackwater, being around the guys and learning from them not only on the games on the court, but them as men as well," said the North Carolina native.
