SHOOTING from long-range comes naturally for NLEX import DeQuan Jones and he intends to do it more often, particularly from the 4-point territory, knowing that it is being rewarded.
Jones hit three 4-point shots during the crucial stretch of the Road Warriors' 103-99 triumph against the Barangay Ginebra Kings on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum that earned them a seat in the quarterfinals of the PBA Governors' Cup.
"I've been shooting from that distance for a large part of my career," Jones said. "It's good now that is being rewarded from shooting from that distance. It's fun and gets the crowd going. Something which I needed to adapt to."
Jones finished with 44 points, including 4-of-6 shooting from the four-point distance, while also pulling down 10 boards for a double-double performance.
An NBA veteran who spent the past six years playing in Asia, including the Japan B. League where he teamed up with former NLEX star Kiefer Ravena at Shiga Lakes, Jones believes the four-point shot is definitely a game changer for any team competing in the PBA.
