Just for the attitude his players are showing in playing the game, GlobalPort coach Pido Jarencio is positive they can contend for the PBA Commissioner's Cup playoffs.
"We have a lot to work on and improve on, but I like the guys' attitude," said Jarencio going to their Petron Blaze Saturday road showdown versus Magnolia Pambansang Manok in Angeles, Pampanga.
Jarencio and his Batang Pier shoot for a third straight win as they tangle with the Hotshots at 5 p.m. at the Angeles University Foundation Gym.
On the departure of Terrence Romeo, a number of GlobalPort players have stepped up - one is Sean Anthony who flirted with a triple-double performance with 29 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists in their 117-106 drubbing of the Blackwater Elite on May 2.
And there's Stanley Pringle who's been very consistent with stellar performance through their first three games in the mid-season tourney.

Pringle collected 26 markers, seven assists and six rebounds versus the Elite.
In their tournament debut against the Phoenix Fuel Masters on May 6, the Hotshots dominated most of the way only to falter and fail at the finish.
Needless to say, they ache to bounce back.
"We're ready to face another tough challenge. GlobalPort is on a run so we need to be sharp and consistent," said Magnolia coach Chito Victolero.
The Hotshots blew away a big 16-point lead in their sorry loss to the Fuel Masters.

Alas, the Hotshots folded at endgame.(SB)
