Playing time not an issue for Tenorio

LIMITED or extended minutes, LA Tenorio is ready to answer the call for Barangay Ginebra.

The veteran playmaker proved he's still up to the task as he delivered when it mattered most in the Kings' 90-71 win over the Meralco Bolts that tied at 2-2 their best-of-seven series in the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals.

Tenorio, 39, submitted decent numbers of seven points, four rebounds, and six assists in the Game 4 win, but more importantly, orchestrated Ginebra's plays and provided veteran presence that were lacking in the team's back-to-back losses in Games 2 and 3.

He played close to 23 minutes as a first time starter, his most in the series after being held to just three minutes of play in the first two games of the semis.

But playing time is certainly not an issue for Tenorio.

"Kung ilang minutes man yan, I'm always ready. Even in practice, I always prepare myself to play. Kung anuman yung routine ko years ago, yun pa rin ang ginagawa ko kasi I want to be ready anytime," said the long-time Ginebra team captain.

Heading to Game 5 on Sunday, Tenorio expects Meralco to be on their toes against him especially following the adjustment coach Tim Cone made of inserting him in the starting unit together with fellow veteran Stanley Pringle.

"They're gonna be ready. I'm sure hindi sila (Bolts) ready nung nag-start ako. Medyo nagulat sila run," he said. "I know they'll gonna be ready, and it's going to be harder."

Again, whether he will be a starter anew or be coming off the bench again, Tenorio said it doesn't matter. For him, it's quality over quantity.

"I'm going to help this team in any way, kahit ilang minutes pa yan," he stressed.
