Teng continues to answer the bell for Ayo

A different system but just as effective.

Jeron Teng keeps on thriving under Aldin Ayo despite playing behind an entirely different scheme at Converge.

The 28-year-old guard previously played for Ayo at La Salle and won together a UAAP men's basketball championship in 2016.

But Teng could see the difference right away on the system he used to play for with the Green Archers in the past and with the FiberXers nowadays.

"Yung pinapa-implement niya sa Converge ngayon medyo different, kasi iba naman yung collegiate level sa PBA," said the son of former PBA defensive player Alvin Teng.

"But I know that coach Aldin's system works. So we (FiberXers) just rely on it and play through the system."

Already at ease playing for Ayo, Teng burned the hoops in Converge's blowout win over TNT in the PBA Commissioner's Cup, 130-117, wherein he emerged the leading scorers among the locals with 22 points, including a near-perfect 4-of-5 shooting from deep.

The 6-foot-2 Teng was among those who had the hot hands for Converge during the game at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, where it recorded a franchise-best 21 three pointers behind a hot 52 percent shooting from beyond the arc led by the nine treys of import Quincy Miller.

"Medyo pamilyar na kasi ako sa mga gusto ni coach Aldin," Teng admitted. "But us players, we're still learning and improving sa system ni coach. We just have to execute it."

The13-point win over the Tropang Giga improved Converge's record at 4-2 for third place in a tie with Barangay Ginebra in the standings.
